The importance of education can never be undermined. All people across the world agree that education is the key to a healthy mind and a successful life especially for vulnerable children.

Education exposes children to new ideas and helps them make a path to a career. Education for children eradicates social practices like child labour and boost nation’s economy and growth. Children in Nigeria often face problems such as poor health, lack of access to quality education, food and social insecurity, and lack of care. Estimate determine that the current number of children workers in Nigeria is 15 million according to the International Labor Organization (ILO).

Education for All Global Monitoring report show that nearly 58 million school-aged children are not in school, An estimate of 250 million children in the world can not read or write.

Every child has the right to learn and get a good and quality education regardless of their gender. A person that gets education will be more open to the avenues for life of his choice. An educated person will be a better citizen and an able decision-maker. This is the reason why children should be giving access to quality education and be taught how to read, write and do simple arithmetic to enable them have a solid foundation for continued learning throughout life time.
